Jen and Nathan’s wedding took place in Vegas, then one week later I was fortunate enough to be photographing their formal wedding reception, at the Egypt Mill in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.
With the wedding being in November, we hadn’t been blessed with the best weather, it was quite dark and literally rained for the whole day!
When I arrived at the venue I met Nathan, who proceeded to give me all the items that the couple wanted me to photograph for them – shoes, rings, bouquet and other lovely wedding jewellery. I always like to do outside pictures where possible, so thankfully for me the Egypt Mill has a nice little undercover area (the ironworks) that was perfect for my detail shots.
Once I was happy with all the detail shots it was time to go and find Jen, to get some pictures of her dress, and of course her and the bridal party getting ready. With the couple already being married, I was able to photograph Jen attaching Nathan’s button hole to his suit jacket, this was a lovely moment and definitely a first for me.
Having to photograph the family group shots inside made things slightly challenging, with a combination of the family being descendants of giants and rather low ceilings! Some of my favourite indoor images were taken directly in front of the DJ set, which gave some really beautiful lighting to the background.
Wedding detail shots are always amongst my favourite pictures from each wedding, and I must say that I absolutely loved this couples taste – everything from the bouquet and dress to the table decorations, it was all absolutely stunning. Jen and Nathan were really lovely and despite both being rather camera shy, they felt comfortable throughout the day and hardly noticed I was there. They were really happy with their wedding pictures and took the time to leave me a really lovely review on the Facebook page.
Another amazing wedding! Which wedding blog to do next..
