Nadine & Dogs Pet Portrait Session

Nadine & Dogs Pet Portrait Session

This summer (2016), my friend and neighbour Nadine asked me if I would do some pictures of her two dogs, Arlie and Bear. Airlie is a rather cheeky Shar Pei, and Bear is a Newfoundland puppy, who is already the size of a small car, but thinks she is a lap dog! Originally Nadine just wanted the shoot to be of the dogs, with the main focus being getting a great shot of Bear to frame for her home, but I managed to persuade her to be in some of the pictures too.…continue reading →
Family Photo Shoot

Family Photo Shoot

At the end of last year I was approached by someone from London regarding a family photo shoot for him and his family, which would be his gift for his parents 60th wedding anniversary. The family photo shoot was booked in for the end of January, so I was ridiculously relieved to have woken up to such a beautiful day! With the family not being local, bad weather would have meant we had to settle for an indoor photo shoot, which would have been a real shame. Only speaking to people via email…continue reading →
Pet Portrait Sessions

Pet Portrait Sessions

Pet portrait sessions are amongst the most fun, yet challenging shoots that I face throughout the year. I mainly cover dogs, though any pet is of course welcome to be booked in for pet portrait sessions! Don't forget that you and your family can jump in the pictures whenever you'd like to - some playtime or cuddle pictures are always great. For many of us our dogs are a very key member of the family, so this can be a great opportunity to get a full family portrait. For owners here are my tips:…continue reading →
Your Wedding Photography

Your Wedding Photography

What to expect from your wedding photography can vary drastically from one photographer to the next, so it's definitely important to do your research. Every photographer seems to offer a completely different package, and some that seem like a good deal really aren't. A lot of photographers have an image limit, resulting in you not actually getting a large amount of your wedding images. My personal goal for your wedding photography, is to tell the story of your day through my images - to capture all the details and the moments that made it special, along…continue reading →
Why I Arrive Early For Weddings

Why I Arrive Early For Weddings

I always like to arrive early for my wedding photography clients, regardless of whether they are getting ready at their venue or not. When I arrive early it gives me the opportunity to get all your special items photographed, and it gives me more time to do so. When I don't have to rush it gives me more time to come up with some creative picture ideas, which have resulted in some of the best pictures that I have taken. I usually ask that the bride sets aside a box of items ready…continue reading →
Jen & Nathan’s Wedding Blog

Jen & Nathan’s Wedding Blog

Jen and Nathan's wedding took place in Vegas, then one week later I was fortunate enough to be photographing their formal wedding reception, at the Egypt Mill in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. With the wedding being in November, we hadn't been blessed with the best weather, it was quite dark and literally rained for the whole day! When I arrived at the venue I met Nathan, who proceeded to give me all the items that the couple wanted me to photograph for them - shoes, rings, bouquet and other lovely wedding jewellery. I always like to…continue reading →
Why I love This Wedding Detail Picture

Why I love This Wedding Detail Picture

As a wedding photographer, the morning of a wedding is one of my favourite times of the day, I get to take some of your cherished items to a pretty spot and reshuffle, balance and reshuffle some more until I get the perfect picture. On this particular day in August 2014, I was visiting the Egypt Mill in Nailsworth, a pretty wedding venue in the Cotswolds, to photograph the wedding of Stuart and Fallon. Upon collecting all of Fallon's wedding jewellery, along with sparkly blue shoes (flats the sensible bride!) and wedding rings from her room, I…continue reading →
