Earlier this year I was booked for the Cheltenham Regency Hotel wedding of Suzanne and Pete.

The couple booked me having seen one of my advertisements on Facebook, and we went from there!

On the morning of the wedding, I met Suzanne and some of her family over in Minchinhampton. It was a gloriously sunny day!

Suzanne’s hair and makeup had been done before I arrived, so I started with some detail shots of the wedding jewellery in her parents garden.

I love to get shots of the mother of the bride doing up the back of the brides wedding dress where possible. So I was very happy that we were able to do this. It’s always a special moment to capture.

I left ahead of Suzanne to make sure I was in position for the service.

When I arrived at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel wedding venue, the guests and Pete were all enjoying themselves, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bride.

Suzanne and Pete are both prison officers, as were several of their guests. They decided to have two of their fellow prison officers as flower girls. Both male. One actually thought it was a joke until just before the service, needless to say it was pretty hilarious! I think this about sums up the humour and vibe at this lovely wedding. There were so many laughs between some really great friends.

The obviously strong bonds between people at this wedding made it an absolute joy to be a part of. I don’t think I have laughed so much at a wedding! It really was great fun, with some really awesome people!

The speeches were amongst the most emotional I have witnessed. It was a very special and heartfelt part of the day.

It will always be a real privilege that I am invited to witness and record such private, personal and memorable moments, that make a wedding day.
