John and Ann-Marie were married on a beautiful day in September at The Old Lodge in Minchinhampton, an ancient market town, located on a hilltop just outside of Stroud in Gloucestershire.

The Old Lodge is very quaint wedding venue situated in the heart of Minchinhampton Common, with beautiful views across the Stroud Valley’s, making it a really stunning wedding venue.

On John and Ann-Marie’s wedding day, I arrived early at the venue to set about photographing all the couples wedding items. The garden of The Old Lodge made the perfect place to get some creative pictures of the wedding rings and flowers, amongst other things! Later in the day the garden was the ideal place for pictures of the newlyweds and the group pictures too. The couple opted to incorporate some fun group pictures in with the classic ones, which injected even more fun into their lovely wedding day.

The wedding service took place at in a elegant and bright room, which was later used for both the wedding breakfast and the reception.

After the service, the guests congregated in The Old Lodge gardens, all talking, laughing and enjoying a celebratory glass of fizz, whilst the children charged around with an array of inflatables! Outdoor space is always ideal, as I love to work with natural light where possible. Also, being able to photograph people when they are not aware of the camera results in some lovely natural pictures.

The couple and their guests all looked like they were having a great day, and were a lovely group of people to be around.

Later on in the day the music started and great fun was had by all on the dance floor!

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this wedding at The Old Lodge, and hope to photograph more weddings at this stunning wedding venue in the future. Gloucestershire for me is such a place of beauty, and the views from this venue really do it justice.
